SDCC 2017: LUCIFER’s Aimee Garcia on S3!

While down in San Diego over the summer at Comic Con 2017, we had the chance to sit down with the cast and creative team from LUCIFER, the FOX series that has its 3rd season premiere tonight at a new time, 8/7c. Aimee Garcia plays Ella Lopez, a forensic scientist that works with Lucifer, Chloe, and Dan. We spent time grilling her about the standalone episodes that were requested by FOX last year, and how Ella and Lucifer work together

Quick Take: Skip 9JKL on CBS

What do Marc Feuerstein, Linda Lavin, Elliott Gould, Liza Lapira, Albert Tsai, Matt Murray, and LOML* David Walton have in common?  Together, they’re staring in the most disappointing comedy of the Fall! On 9JKL, based on Feuerstein’s real life, he plays Josh Roberts, a successful TV star who temporarily relocates to the apartment next to his parents, while he looks for permanent housing and love. On the other side of his parents live Josh’s brother and his wife, who are

Previewing FOX’s GHOSTED with Linc Hand

Supernatural comedy series GHOSTED, starring Adam Scott and Craig Robinson as a believer and skeptic, respectively, premieres on FOX Sunday night at 8:30/7:30c. When the “James Bond of the underground government agency that deals with paranormal activity,” agent Kurt Checker, goes missing, he names Scott and Robinson’s Max and Leroy as his saviors, drawing the characters into a world they never expected. I had the chance to chat with Checker himself, actor Linc Hand, about what’s coming up on FOX’s

Chef Barbie Marshall previews her return to HELL’S KITCHEN

When Chef Barbie Marshall was a competitor on Season 12 of HELL’S KITCHEN, she got her black jacket but not the win.  She joked with people that if the show ever had an All Stars season, she’d do it, never expecting them to ACTUALLY have an All Stars season. Now, she’s back in the kitchen, ready to compete with other chefs from the show’s past (including a handful from her season, which made for an interesting competition), all of whom

Meet the New Cast of HAWAII FIVE-0

Normally, Hawaii Five-0 opens a new season with a sunset premiere on the beaches of Waikiki. This year, due to the departures of Daniel Dae Kim (Chin Ho Kelly) and Grace Park (Kono Kalakaua) from the series, CBS has kept everything hush-hush until the series’ eighth season premiere. Still, viewers of the series will notice something of the familiar in the character arcs of newcomers Meaghan Rath and Beulah Koale. Rath stars as Tani Rey, a lifeguard at the Hilton

Cheryl’s Take: What I’m watching on ABC this season!

Let’s be honest. I’m more a fan of drama than comedy. That being said, it’s time I checked to see what the networks have planned for us, the unsuspecting viewers, for the upcoming 2017-18 season. I want to look at some of these shows in a short series of articles. Here’s a quick peek at new dramas ABC has lined up. “The Crossing” follows refugees from America arriving in a small town seeking asylum from a war that has yet

Cheryl’s Take: new NBC dramas to watch this season!

Let’s be honest. I’m more a fan of drama than comedy. That being said, it’s time I checked to see what the networks have planned for us, the unsuspecting viewers, for the upcoming 2017-18 season. I want to look at some of these shows in a short series of articles. Here’s a quick look at what new dramas NBC has lined up. “The Brave” (Mondays at 10/9c) follows undercover military personnel in both their technology surveillance office in Washington, D.C.

Quick Take: SEAL TEAM on CBS

SEAL TEAM, the new military drama series from CBS, starring David Boreanaz and Jessica Paré, premieres tonight at 9/8c. The second of three military dramas to premiere this Fall, SEAL TEAM has the distinction of being a bit more grounded than THE BRAVE (NBC, premiered Monday) and eons better than VALOR (CW, coming soon). While SEAL TEAM and THE BRAVE have very similar pilots including a decision made and immediately thrown out regarding a civilian rescue, SEAL TEAM has one

Quick Take: LAW & ORDER TRUE CRIME: THE MENENDEZ MURDERS

NBC’s latest addition to the LAW&ORDER franchise comes in the form of a true crime drama series (a la FX’s AMERICAN CRIME STORY) that focuses on the baffling murders of the Menendez parents by the Menendez Brothers in 1989, and the court cases that followed for years after: LAW & ORDER TRUE CRIME: THE MENENDEZ MURDERS. Here, Edie Falco plays the notorious defense attorney Leslie Abramson, while newcomers Miles Gaston Villanueva and Gus Halper play the brothers (Lyle and Eric).  The

My Take On…YOUNG SHELDON on CBS

In CBS’ YOUNG SHELDON, getting a special preview at 8:30/7:30c tonight before it moves to its regular home (still behind THE BIG BANG THEORY) on Thursdays (11/2, after football), we’re introduced to Sheldon Cooper as a 9-year-old. He wears a very specific bow-tie to school, the high school where his academic achievements have placed him at least 5 years early. He doesn’t get along very well with his family because his advanced brain puts him outside of their down-home norms
