Comic Con 2014: Honorary MToT Member Mel talks REIGN with Megan Follows

We were lucky enough to have a pinch hitter for some CBS-produced shows at Comic Con!  Our old friend, Melissa from Nice Girls relished the opportunity to talk to the legend that is Megan Follows from CW’s REIGN (and ANNE OF GREEN GABLES, come on!) along with showrunner Laurie McCarthy about bringing REIGN to SDCC and what comes next – check out the round table! REIGN premieres tonight at 9/8c on The CW.

My Take On…STALKER on CBS

Kevin Williamson has been known to put his women characters in peril, and his latest show, STALKER, which begins tonight on CBS (10/9c), is no different.  Within the opening minutes, someone is lit on fire at the hands of, you guessed it, a stalker!  The case then heads over to the Threat Assessment Unit of the LAPD where we meet no-nonsense head of the unit, Lt Beth Davis (Maggie Q, who deserves better), as she greets her staff and newest

My Take On…MANHATTAN LOVE STORY on ABC

Tonight on ABC, Jake McDorman and Analeigh Tipton star in MANHATTAN LOVE STORY, premiering at 8:30/7:30c after SELFIE.  The show follows Pete (McDorman) and Dana (Tipton) as they traverse the rough waters of dating in Manhattan.  The entire time we’re watching their blind date (and subsequent attempts) implode (they were set up my his brother and his brother’s wife (Dana’s best friend)…still with me?), we’re made to listen to their inner monologues that include but aren’t limited to Pete’s comments

My Take On….ABC’S SELFIE: it’s almost great

Let’s make this known: while Tennant is my Doctor (and will forever be), Amy Pond is my companion.  She was my favorite – with Rory, without Rory, in general, etc. So I’m a big fan of Karen Gillan. As a fan of KG, I was pre-disposed to be a fan of her new show, SELFIE, which premieres tonight at 8/7c on ABC.  Gillan plays Eliza Dooley, a vapid, self-obsessed woman, who is “insta-famous” but who has no real friends.  When

Quick Take: BROOKLYN NINE-NINE returns!

BROOKLYN NINE-NINE returns tonight to FOX with their Season 2 premiere at 8:30/7:30c and it’s definitely been worth the long wait since May! When we left the 99, Jake had decided to go undercover, confessing his feelings for Amy along the way. Meanwhile, Gina and Charles found themselves in bed together after a wild night.  When season 2 picks up some time later, Jake is back, Gina and Charles are still reeling, and Terry, Amy, and Diaz are being put through

Quick Take: HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER on ABC

Tonight, Shondaland takes over ABC when GREY’S moves to 8/7c, SCANDAL takes up residence at 9/8c, and HOW TO GET AWAY WITH MURDER (written by Peter Nowalk) joins the line up at 10/9c.  Viola Davis stars as Annalise Keating, brilliant professor of law, with a specialty in defense, who teaches a class “lovingly” referred to as “How to Get Away with Murder.” What follows throughout the hour is a bunch of law students trying to one up each other while

DVD Review: BONES Season 9 “Till Death Do Us Part Edition”

BONES S9 was released on September 16 and the MToT has spent time catching up with the gang. Check out our quick thoughts: What’s on the back: TV’s most anticipated wedding day has arrived!  And since dealing with death is a part of their jobs, it probably won’t part FBI Special Agent Seeley Booth (David Boreanaz) and quirky forensic anthropologist Temperance Brennan – aka Bones (Emily Deschanel).  But Bones and Booth must still address serial killer Christopher Pelant’s threat to

Quick Take: THE MIDDLE is basically perfection

THE MIDDLE is back for their 6th season premiere tonight (8/7c) and I feel like I’ve been counting down the minutes.  The show about the every day struggles of a family living in Middle America has been a favorite since day one, and tonight’s episode is no different – Frankie screws up dates, and Sue and Brick are forced to make an awkward first impression at school, while Mike and Axl fight it out repeatedly on the basketball court. Oh

Previewing BLACK-ISH with star Yara Shahidi

Tonight on ABC, an all new family is welcomed to Wednesday nights when BLACK-ISH premieres at 9:30/8:30c.  Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross star as Dre and Rainbow, well-off parents of Zoey, Junior, Jack, and Diane.  When Dre realizes that his family has started to lose a grip on their family culture (as a family in general and as a family of color), he commits himself to changing things around. Yara Shahidi, who you may recognize as young Olivia Pope
