In a release sent out just a bit ago, we learned that HAVEN has officially been picked up for not just another season (#5 for those counting), but a double season of 26 total episodes, the first 13 of which will once again air on Syfy in the fall! From the release: “Tallying its best season ever in social mentions and Twitter activity, Haven’s recently wrapped fourth season was up 11% among Adults 18-34 (314,000) and up 3% year-to-year among

Steve Lund previews what’s coming up on BITTEN

In tonight’s all new episode of BITTEN, titled “Prodigal” (airs 10/8c on Syfy), at Stonehaven, Elena tracks the killer Mutt while avoiding the advances of Clay Danvers; haunted by her own past as a killer, Elena is desperate to get back to her human life. To celebrate the premiere of the new show both here and in Canada, I spent some time chatting with series star Steve Lund (Nick Sorrentino).  The Halifax native, who you may recognize as James Cogan

Jane Levy previews the return of SUBURGATORY

Tonight on ABC, sandwiched between all new episodes of THE MIDDLE and MODERN FAMILY (8:30/7:30c), you have to watch the long-awaited third season premiere of SUBURGATORY! Easily one of my favorite shows since it premiered in 2011, I’m pleased to say that watching the show’s latest new episodes has given me no reason to change my mind.  When we get back to Chatswin tonight, things have changed for Tessa after a great summer with her mom, George still has leather

Monday Must Watch: FX’s ARCHER and CHOZEN

Tonight on FX, catch up with old friend Sterling Archer and new friend rapper Chozen, in an hour of animated comedy that is pretty much not at all politically correct, but all the funnier because of it. Up first (10/9c), ARCHER Season 5 kicks off with the gang at Isis realizing that all of this time, Mallory hasn’t exactly been working FOR the US government.  What follows is a whip-smart and super fast half hour with jokes that come quickly

Quick Take: Syfy’s HELIX….aka what did I just watch for 2 hours?

Full disclosure: I may be very alone in saying that I was among the few who watched Syfy’s HELIX, premiering tonight at 10/9c, and felt…confused? Lost? Not completely engaged? Billy Campbell stars as Dr Alan Farragut, the head of the CDC’s outbreak field team who is summoned to the Arctic when his brother contracts an unknown and crazy dark virus.  He gets there, he does experiments, he flirts and fights with two pretty ladies, and then all of a sudden

My Take On…ENLISTED on FOX

Quick Take: CHICAGO P.D. is worth a quick look!

When CHICAGO FIRE premiered last year, I watched it without any deep emotional attachment, but somewhere along the way, one of the firemen gets magnesium shavings in his lungs, and I was crying like a baby.  Haven’t missed an episode since.  I watched the CHICAGO P.D. embedded pilot from last season, and found myself in the same boat – no deep emotional attachment.  After watching the first three episodes of the CHICAGO P.D. season, I’m along for the ride, but
