Keeping the Holiday Spirit Alive in 2017!

If you’re like me, you love everything to do with Christmas, and the end of the holidays is really a downer.  But, as the year draws to a close, some pretty exciting projects are on the horizon.   In keeping with the wonder of a still-winter wonderland, NBC tries to keep the holiday spirit fresh and alive with its annual New Year’s Eve broadcast, live from Times Square.   This year is no exception.  “NBC’s New Year’s Eve with Carson Daly”

HAWAII FIVE-0 Takes a Bow as Season Seven Begins

As Queen’s Surf Beach drank in the beauty of another sunset over Waikiki, cast and crew gathered with fans for Hawaii Five-0’s Season Seven red-carpet premiere.  And what a memorable event it was – and a starlit night so clear the white canopy that has enveloped so many Five-0 premieres was nowhere in sight. First to arrive at mytake’s spot on the carpet was Teilor Grubbs (Grace). MyTakeonTV (MTOTV):  I understand you’re really into sports.  Tell me about your favorites.

HAWAII FIVE-0 Begins Production on Season 7 with Traditional Blessing

Hawaii Five-0 began production for Season 7 with a traditional Hawaiian blessing.  Kahu Kordell Kekoa presided over the ceremony and began by citing the significance of the number “7” in the Bible.   He brought tea leaves to symbolize healing, nourishment, and safety in the new season. Present at the bright and early 6:15 call time were Executive Producer Peter Lenkov and actors Dennis Chun, Teilor Grubbs, Daniel Dae Kim, Chi McBride, Alex O’Loughlin, and Grace Park.  Hawaii News Now

Ian Anthony Dale talks MURDER IN THE FIRST and HAWAII FIVE-0

On the brink of the third season premiere of Murder in the First, (which airs June 26 at 10 P.M. on TNT), I had the honor to speak with Ian Anthony Dale about his role as Jim Koto on the series as well as his recurring role of Adam Noshimuri on Hawaii Five-0. First of all, thank you so much for taking the time to speak with me.  I really appreciate it.  I had the privilege to interview you in

One Final Bow for THE GOOD WIFE

As announced during this year’s Super Bowl, The Good Wife will take a final bow to CBS and to the world on May 8, 2016. Such a critically acclaimed series causes pause to reflect on just what made it so appealing to audiences in the first place. In a CBS press call earlier this year, the husband-wife writing duo/series creators/executive producers and showrunners Robert and Michelle King met with reporters to dish on the ingredients that make up a

Talking ONE CHICAGO at TCAs

Television shows sometimes impact viewers so much that they touch their hearts and change their lives.  I’ve written here at mytakeontv before about what a powerful tool TV can be.  This year’s Winter TCA’s gave NBC a chance to show off some of its more noble shows.  And three of them – Chicago Fire, Chicago P.D., and Chicago Med come from Executive Producer Dick Wolf.  Wolf joined Colin Donnell (Chicago Med), S. Epatha Merkerson (Chicago Med), Monica Raymund (Chicago Fire),

Lisa Welchel previews Hallmark’s HEARTS OF SPRING

As Hallmark’s Hearts of Spring gets set to premiere, I had the pleasure to speak exclusively with one of its stars, Lisa Welchel (The Facts of Life). Tell me a bit about your character, Carly Ashby. She writes a parenting blog, she’s single, her daughter is a senior in high school getting ready to go off to college, and she’s kind of finding love the second time around. What do you admire most about her? I would say I admire

Cheryl Ponders The Lesser-Known Lab-Rats of Hawaii Five-0

Has anybody but me noticed how quickly the lab rats of Hawaii Five-0 scurry away? First, there was the eccentric Dr. Max Bergman (played by Masi Oka), who, in his debut as Chief Medical Examiner in Episode 19 of Season One [“Ne Me’e Laua Na Paio” (Heroes and Villains)], showed off his skill as a musical prodigy on the piano and his penchant for avoiding eye contact.  Bergman had quite an interesting character arc, with a thing for Keanu Reeves

NBC Shadows Real-Life Doctor on HEARTBEAT

NBC shadows worldrenowned cardiothoracic surgeon Dr. Kathy Magliato in “Heartbeat,” and executives gave the winter TCAs a look at this unique series. The “Heartbeat” panel consisted of executive producers Amy Brenneman and Brad Silberling, executive producer and showrunner Jill Gordon, co-executive producer Dr. Kathy Magliato, and actors Don Hany, Melissa George, Dave Annable, D.L. Hughley, J Louis Mills, Shelley Conn, Jamie Kennedy, and Maya Erskine. Kathy, tell us, first of all, what got you interested in being a doctor in

Catching up with the Cast of NBC’s SHADES OF BLUE

NBC series Shades of Blue offers a fresh slant on the NYPD, as detectives strive to enforce the law without being influenced by corruption within.  Jennifer Lopez, and other members of the cast and crew, joined NBC for a panel discussion with the press at this year’s winter TCAs. Jennifer, what was it like for you filming the entire season at once, not knowing how the series will be received? JENNIFER LOPEZ (Executive Producer/Star):  It was nerve‑racking.  Just doing the
