Claire Coffee spills the tea on GRIMM S5

For an actress whose character was originally to appear on one episode, then evolve into a recurring role, Claire Coffee (Adalind) is riding high these days as a Grimm series star. Now in its fifth season, the series’ action-packed finale saw Adalind relinquish her Hexenbiest powers – however temporarily – to test a formula that might help Juliette (Bitsie Tulloch) become fully “human” again. And Coffee, for one, couldn’t be happier as she joins NBC for a press conference to

Talking MOM with Beth Hall

When Beth Hall (Wendy) became a Mom series regular this season, she reached a personal goal. In fact, during a recent telephone call to me, she admitted that it’s what she’s most proud of in her entire career saying, “I’m most proud of reaching this goal, of being a regular in a series. I guess that’s the goal of a lot of actors who want to do television.” Hall had no idea her role would evolve into a regular, however.

Trouble in Paradise Opens Sixth Red-Carpet Premiere of HAWAII FIVE-0

Hawaii Five-0’s red-carpet Season Six premiere did not go off without a hitch as in previous years.  In fact, it was only by God’s grace that the premiere happened at all.  As Executive Producer Peter Lenkov confirmed to an eager crowd, God answered prayers and held back the rain, which had been drenching Oahu for days and, at premier time, appeared to be everywhere except Waikiki.  It was a beautiful night on the beach as press awaited celebrity arrivals. Evolving

CBS Answers Long-Awaited Renewal Questions

As CBS unveiled its new series for the 2015-16 television season’s lineup at the Upfronts in New York City, it announced the renewal of 22 returning favorites. Among them were the Lenkov/Orci/Kurtzman-driven Hawaii Five-0 and the Tom Selleck helmed Blue Bloods, both returning for a fifth season, both airing on Friday night. Because of the ratings dip for both these series, particularly Hawaii Five-0, a return was questionable. However, with a 9.48 million viewership average for the season, Five-0 (the

CEDAR COVE’s Dylan Neal Unveils New Hallmark Project: GOURMET DETECTIVE

Cedar Cove’s Dylan Neal will soon be starring in his own detective movie. The Gourmet Detective, from Hallmark’s Movies and Mysteries, will be executive-produced by Neal. The Right Pitch I gave Neal a call in Vancouver to talk about this new concept and how it got started. He revealed, “It’s something that I’d pitched to the network with my wife, Becky Southwell. I’d had a conversation with Michelle Vicary (Executive VP of Hallmark Programming) during the first season of Cedar

Peter Lenkov talks HAWAII FIVE-0’s Season Finale

As Hawaii Five-0 rides the wave into the Season Five sunset, I chat via email with Executive Producer Peter Lenkov to catch a glimpse of what viewers might expect as the next big cliffhanger looms. James Bond-esque Ending Though Lenkov prefers to play his cards close to the vest, he confirms with mytakeontv that Kono is in fact getting married. “But we have some major surprises in store,” he’s quick to add, “some character, some plot. What I can tell

BATTLE CREEK: A Familiar Cop Show with a Different Feel

Battle Creek promises to be a different kind of cop show.  And prior to its premiere, series creator David Shore and stars Josh Duhamel (Special Agent/Detective Milton Chamberlain) and Dean Winters (Detective Russ Agnew) invited the media to a press conference to discuss just what sets this show apart from all the rest. It’s All in a Day’s Work Duhamel began his preparation to play the straight-laced Chamberlain by going on a ride-along with the real cops of Battle Creek,

Autumn Reeser previews her third Hallmark Film, I DO, I DO, I DO

Autumn Reeser is no stranger to Hallmark Channel movie fans, having appeared in Love and the Thanksgiving Day Parade, Midnight Masquerade, and now I Do, I Do, I Do. I caught up with Reeser from her makeup trailer in L.A. during a promotional tour of the movie.  She told me this was a project she’d been hoping to do for a couple of years, saying, “This is my second movie with this team – Writer Nancey Silvers, Director Ron Oliver,

Saber Ops: Military Advisors to HAWAII FIVE-0 and Beyond

How cool is it to watch McGarrett (Alex O’Loughlin) singlehandedly gun down bad guys each week on Hawaii Five-0 with his weapon of choice? Pretty cool, huh? I think so too. That’s why I made no hesitation when my chance came along to talk with a member of the Saber Ops team.   After all, Saber Ops is the military advisor team who gets all the credit for that larger-than-life motion- picture feel on Five-0’s Season One. I’m chatting with David

Stefanie Powers Spreads the Love through Animals, Asia, and Hallmark’s LOVE BY THE BOOK

In the world of television, Stefanie Powers is an icon. Let’s face it. Perhaps best known for her Hart to Hart days with Robert Wagner, Powers has yet to slow down, continuing instead to shower the world with her talent in entertainment. Her most recent project, Love by the Book, premieres this weekend on the Hallmark Channel. Powers will play opposite John Schneider, Leah Renee, and Kristopher Turner. As I talk with Powers via telephone about her latest project, she
