FEAR THE WALKING DEAD vs THE WALKING DEAD: Thoughts vs Expectations

After seeing the extensive promoting done at San Diego Comic Con 2015 for Fear the Walking Dead (FWD); a very realistic walk-through location outside of the Con depicting the church where we see our very first walker, complete with blood strewn absolutely everywhere to the point I was watching where I stepped and also jumping at every turn for fear a walker would JUMP OUT AND GET ME and winding down with a digital spray paint interactive area that was

Double Take: In which Amrie and CourtneyK might have to stop speaking over their varied take on SUPER FUN NIGHT

The Double Takes are back this season as Amrie and I offer up our opinions of some new fall shows without knowing what the other is thinking. In most cases this season, it seems we tend to disagree ha!  Today’s DT is about ABC’s SUPER FUN NIGHT (premiering tonight at 9:30/8:30c after MODERN FAMILY). CourtneyK – First Impression: YES! SUPER CUTE! Awkwardness abounds and I LOVE it! Sort of mash up of Never Been Kissed and Ugly Betty and sillified

Double Take: In which Amrie and CourtneyK disagree about BETRAYAL

The Double Takes are back this season as Amrie and I offer up our opinions of some new fall shows without knowing what the other is thinking. In most cases this season, it seems we tend to disagree ha!  Today’s DT is about ABC’s BETRAYAL (premiering tonight at 10/9c), starring Stuart Townsend, Hannah Ware, ET’s Elliot (Henry Thomas), and James Cromwell. CourtneyK – First Impression: Hate the concept What happens when unhappy people are too self-centered and short sighted to

Double Take: In which CourtneyK and Amrie disagree slightly about ABC’s BACK IN THE GAME

The Double Takes are back this season as Amrie and I offer up our opinions of some new fall shows without knowing what the other is thinking. In most cases this season, it seems we tend to disagree ha!  Today’s DT is about ABC’s BACK IN THE GAME, starring James Caan, Maggie Lawson, and a bunch of charming little kids.   CourtneyK – First Impression: It wasn’t terrible. I actually kinda liked it. Divorced Single Mom (Lawson) with father issues

Double Take: In which CourtneyK and Amrie are in rare agreement about ABC’s LUCKY 7

The Double Takes are back this season as Amrie and I offer up our opinions of some new fall shows without knowing what the other is thinking.  In most cases this season, it seems we tend to disagree ha! However, this next DT is one about which we DEFINITELY do agree – LUCKY 7 on ABC. LUCKY 7 tells the story of a ragtag bunch of folks that work at a run down gas station / car shop.  Their lives

Double Take: In Which CourtneyK and Amrie disagree about THE GOLDBERGS on ABC

The Double Takes are back this season as CourtneyK and I offer up our opinions of some new fall shows without knowing what the other is thinking.  In most cases this season, it seems we tend to disagree ha!  Today, we’re tackling THE GOLDBERGS, a family comedy set in the 80s from the mind of Adam F Goldberg (BREAKING IN; this guy, not this guy).  The series stars Wendi McLendon-Covey and Jeff Garlin, as well as George Segal, and a

Double Take: In which Courtney K and Natali argue SHERLOCK vs ELEMENTARY

During a text conversation with my secret twin sister Natali (@uberdorkgirlie) we started comparing the two most recent television adaptations of the Sherlock Holmes tales. CBS ELEMENTARY and BBC Sherlock specifically.  “What’s the big deal?” you may be asking, WELL the CBS version has gender swapped Watson. That’s right, Watson’s got boobs. Here’s my thing: I like Lucy Liu, she’s spunky, funny, and she can act. But I don’t like a female Watson. I just don’t! I’m all for female

Double Take: In which CourtneyK and Amrie disagree about the ONCE UPON A TIME S1 Finale

Amrie and I had an exchange via text message this morning about their completely different reactions to the ONCE UPON A TIME S1 Finale, which prompted this from me: “Shall we do a face off?”  Check out our reactions and tell us where you fall! CourtneyK – OK I’M TOTALLY IN LOVE WITH THIS SERIES! Seriously, apparently I’m a full on fan now. I love everything about this show, even the sappy parts! With Henry taking that fateful bite of

SCANDAL Double Take: Courtney K and Amrie kind-of, sort-of, agree

Courtney K’s Take: “I’m not a baby lawyer. I’m a Gladiator in a suit.” And with that, my eyebrow is raised. That’s a terrific line. Set in the D.C. area, SCANDAL involves a team of those “Gladiators in suits” who deal in backroom negotiations specifically to “solve problems”. Those problems involve everything from kidnapping, murder, sex scandals; you name it. All the unsavory antics of the movers and shakers in the political scene. The members of Olivia Pope & Associates
