Name of the Episode: “Inherent Bias”

April finally realizes how much Tate cares for her and says yes to his marriage proposal. He pulls out a gorgeous engagement ring for April. At the emergency room, a man comes into the emergency room having difficulty breathing on his own. Between breaths, he asks for Sharon McGee; Maggie realizes that’s Goodwin’s maiden name. Reggie Dixon and Sharon grew up in the same neighborhood growing up. He was never married, and clearly has a crush on Sharon. Danny comes back in to see Reese because he’s not feeling well. He is still worried about being found by his pimp. Reese vows to keep him safe until she can figure out what’s wrong with him.

Halstead is fed up with his roommate, so Noah offers up a suggestion. He has created an app to send doctors for house calls. With a $200 per home fee, Will may be able to ditch his roommate. Upstairs, April begins to show off her new engagement ring to everyone. All the ladies squeal and gaze, while Maggie almost seems annoyed.

Reggie screams in pain because of belly pain. Ethan and Natalie see there are worms just below the skin crawling around. It seems like he has a parasitic worm disease from serving in Vietnam. The disease can remain dormant for decades, but when he had a steroid treatment done, that seemed to awaken the worms.

Reese calls in Lindsay to place Danny under protective custody. Without any suspects or an open case, the department cannot do anything for him. Danny does not give any information, but keeps complaining about a stomachache. Maggie goes to speak with April, but she begins asking questions about her future. Instead of celebrating, Maggie rains on her parade, but just sees it as being protective.

Sharon and Reggie are reminiscing on old times when suddenly his heart rate drops. He suffers a gastrointestinal hemorrhage that leaves the doctors almost helpless to clear the blood loss. Reggie now has other organ damage, but Sharon is insistent to try alternative motives to save him.  Reese isn’t able to find a shelter for Danny to stay; but she hasn’t given up just yet. In another room, Sharon is furious no one is listening to her suggestions. She takes charge and stays by his bedside.

Reese went to ask permission from Dr. Charles to have Danny stay at her apartment for the night. He thinks it’s a terrible idea, but she goes along with it anyway. Unfortunately, Danny leaves the hospital and says he is going back to where he belongs.

At the end of the episode, there is nothing more to help Reggie. He is taken off life support with Sharon faithfully at his side. Reese is upset about Danny leaving, so Ethan offers to help look for him. At Molly’s everyone is celebrating April’s engagement. Nina makes Will an offer for him to move into her apartment. Looks like they have a strong connection and a chance for their relationship to work. April thought her TB was under control, but she has a flare up at the party, and Noah becomes very concerned.

Next week is the fall finale, and the doctors are put in a very difficult situation. To save a patient, his only hope to is get a kidney transfer from his HIV positive brother. They know the risks, but it’s an ethical problem they must confront. What will their decision come to? Tune in next week for another after take!
