Name of the Episode: Soul Care

At the end of the freshman season, the doctors of Chicago Med showed a completely new side to the city. Seems like everyone is trying to settle into their new roles a the hospital, or for Reese, a normal civilian life. She declined her position because she wanted to be in the emergency room; she is now working as a barista at a local coffee shop. Dr. Choi is the Chief Resident, Dr. Rhodes is back from his leave of mourning his mentor Dr. Downey; April is taking medications to suppress the tuberculosis diagnosis, Sharon is cleaning out Burt’s desk after he left her. Meanwhile, Dr. Halstead and Dr. Manning seem to be back where they were, working side by side, without acknowledging their feelings.

Maggie will always be the backbone of the room as she directs patients into their respective rooms. Dr. Charles injured his knee and comes to visit Reese; he offers her a residency in the psychology department. She is unsure, but Dr. Charles offers her at least one day of observation before she decides. Halstead does not want to let nursing student Clarke help in anyway because of Clarke’s connection to Natalie’s late husband Jeff. Dr. Rhodes has his own problems because the new lead surgical doctor; Dr. Latham has openly said he doesn’t care for Rhode’s personal choices. Dr. Latham even throws equipment during a surgery because he felt Rhode’s was trying to undermine him. Clarke takes a risk by quickly performing a surgical maneuver without much supervision. He is able to save the patient’s eye, but Dr. Halstead reprimands Clarke about the incident.

After a successful day, Reese decides to take the residency spot in Psychiatry. April finally lets her guard down for Tate. She accepts she cannot infect him, so she needs to trust everything will be okay. Natalie and Jeff go out to Molly’s after their shift for drinks. Jeff invites her for a nightcap and Natalie accepts. Is there a new romance blossoming? Both of them need each other to lean on, leave a comment to show which side you pick. Team Halstead? Or Team Clarke?

On next week’s episode, two infants are in distress. By saving one baby, the other may not survive. Is it possible to save both babies? Tune in for another after take, next Thursday!
