Quick Take: Mondays on FOX

The season is starting to kick into gear tonight, after a smattering of premieres over the past two weeks.  Tonight, REVOLUTION airs on NBC, and on FOX, BONES is back (to TV, in town, etc) at 8/7c followed by the series premiere of Jordana Spiro in THE MOB DOCTOR.

When we last left our friends at the Jeffersonian, Brennan was on the run after being framed for the murder of her friend by the insufferable Christopher Pelant.  With baby Christine along, and dad Max by her side, Season 8 of BONES picks up a few months later – Booth is a desk-jockey; Angela is still trying to crack that code she’s been trying to crack, and Brennan just wants her life back.  If you’re a fan of the show BONES, you’re going to be a fan of the season premiere.  If you’re not, and you havne’t been in their 8 year run, I’m not sure it’s worth catching up, but it’s certainly an easy, and interesting way to pass an hour on Monday nights at 8/7c.

After BONES comes the series premiere of THE MOB DOCTOR which is just fine.  It’s really nothing new or different – the title says it all.  Jordana Spiro is Grace Devlin, a brilliant (of course) surgeon who has ties to the mob due to her brother’s gambling debts.  It’s replete with all of the mob cliches you ever needed, there’s a secret boyfriend, a mean girl at the hospital, and a best friend there to support our girl.  The show would normally be something I suggest watching on a weekly basis because (the love of my life) Zach Gilford is in it, but the repetitive nature that will find good girl Grace making a decision whether to cater to the mob or not every week (I mean, what do you think she’s going to do?) is enough to keep me tuning out.  That said, check it out and let us know your thoughts!
