Name of the Episode: Grave New World

Beware – the follow contains spoilers!!!

After months of speculating and wondering, fans finally found out the fate of Lieutenant Matt Casey!  He is…..ALIVE! Within the first two minutes of the episode, he is found by Chicago PD officers, and was able to fight off the men who kidnapped him. After writers killed off Leslie Shay at the start of season 3, fans were worried they would be losing another member of Firehouse 51.

With the start of the fourth season, Lieutenant Severide has been stripped of his rank of commanding Squad 3. To add salt to his wound, a replacement has come in for Severide until he can earn back his rank. Gabby is no longer a candidate because a new candidate has been introduced to the series. Steven R. McQueen plays Jimmy Borelli; who is already off to a bad start with Chief Boden.

Meanwhile everyone is worried about how Casey is dealing with his violent ordeal; and to add to his stress, the man he was working to put away has escaped jail time for human trafficking. At the end of the episode, Severide impulsively decides to not return to the firehouse; Casey declares his love for Gabby once more as she finally reveals she is pregnant with their first child.  Chicago Fire continues to deliver storylines that grip and keep their viewers coming back each week.
