As we’ve done for multiple years now, here’s a list of renewals, cancellations, and new series pickups, as we get more and more information from the networks!  Here is what we know so far!  Bookmark this page for updates as we get more news!


NBC will announce their 2018-2019 schedule the weekend leading up to May 14.

  • NEW AMSTERDAM (fka BELLEVUE) – Ryan Eggold (THE BLACKLIST) stars in this medical drama.  Eggold is Max Goodwin, the medical director of an aging and understaffed hospital — “the only one in the world capable of treating Ebola patients, prisoners from Rikers and the President of the United States under one roof,” according to the official description. Goodwin fights to keep bureaucracy from interfering with patient care and is determined to restore his hospital to its former glory. Freema Agyeman (SENSE8), Janet Montgomery (SALEM), Jocko Sims (THE LAST SHIP), Anupam Kher (THE BIG SICK), and Tyler Labine (REAPER).
  • THE VILLAGE – From Deadline: the people who reside the building have built a bonded family of friends and neighbors. Sarah’s a nurse and single mom raising a creative teen; Gabe’s a young law student who got a much older and unexpected roommate; Ava must secure the future of her young, U.S.-born son when ICE comes knocking; Nick’s a veteran who’s returned from war; and the heart and soul of the building, Ron and Patricia, have captivating tales all their own. These are the hopeful, heartwarming and challenging stories of life that prove family is everything — even if it’s the one you make with the people around you. The cast includes Moran Atias, Chianese, Warren Christie, Frankie Faison, Jerod Haynes, Daren Kagasoff, Michaela McManus, Lorraine Toussaint and Grace Van Dien.
  • THE ENEMY WITHIN – From Deadline: Written and executive produced by Woodruff and directed by Mark Pellington, The Enemy Within is a fast-paced thriller set in the world of counterintelligence. It centers on Erica Shepherd (Carpenter), a brilliant former CIA operative, now known as the most notorious traitor in American history and serving life in a Supermax prison. Against every fiber of his being but with nowhere else to turn, FBI Agent Will Keaton (Chestnut) enlists Shepherd to help track down a fiercely dangerous and elusive criminal she knows all too well. For Keaton, it’s not easy to trust the woman who cost him so much. While Shepherd and Keaton have different motivations for bringing the enemy to justice, they both know that to catch a spy: They must think like one. The cast of the project, which has been compared to NBC veteran The Blacklist, also includes Raza Jaffrey and Kelli Garner.
  • I FEEL BAD – Single cam stars Sarayu Blue (NO TOMORROW) and Paul Adelstein (PRISON BREAK, SCANDAL).  Blue is Emet, a “most imperfect mom, boss, wife, friends, and daughter.  
  • ABBY’S – Natalie Morales stars as Abby, and she owns “the best bar in San Diego, home to good prices, great company, and of course, Abby.”  Neil Flynn stars as one of the regulars at the bar. 
  • MANIFEST – Josh Dallas stars in this one about a plane that disappears from the radar and returns years later, after being untraceable and presumed lost at sea. For those on the plane, time stood still. Those at home, however? Time moved on.  A mystery thriller – sounds interesting.
  • THE INBETWEEN – Aussie Harriet Dyer stars as Cassie Bishop, a woman who can communicate with the dead, to help them solve their unresolved problems.  She works with the FBI to solve murders. ARROW’s Paul Blackthorne also stars.

    • THE PASSAGE – Mark Paul Gosselaar stars in this one, based on the best-selling fantasy book trilogy by Justin Cronin.  Deadline says it’s an “epic, character-driven thriller about a secret government medical facility experimenting with a dangerous virus that could either cure all disease or cause the downfall of the human race.  The series focuses on a 10-year-old girl named Amy Bellafonte (Saniyya Sidney), who is chosen to be a test subject for this experiment and Brad Wolgast (MPG), the federal agent who becomes her surrogate fathers as he tries to protect her.  Also stars Vincent Piazza, Brianne Howey, Jamie McShane, Caroline Chikezie, and Emmanuelle Chriqui.
    • THE COOL KIDS – this one’s from Charlie Day and Paul Fruchbom.  Set in a retirement community.  Vicki Lawrence stars with Martin Mull, David Alan Grier, and Leslie Jordan.
    • PROVEN INNOCENT – This one has Rachelle Lefevre as Madeline Scott, a female lawyer who runs a wrongful conviction firm, working to reopen cases to exonerate innocent people who were found guilty.  Kinda of like that show with Agent Carter….Supporting cast includes Russell Hornsby, Nikki M James, Vincent Kartheiser, Riley Smith, and Clare O’Connor (in flashbacks as young Madeline).
    • REL – Official description: Lil Rel, a prideful, self-made success who lives by the code to “always believe in yourself and great things will come,” finds that attitude put to the test when he learns his wife is having an affair with his own barber. He tries to rebuild his life post-divorce as a long-distance single father on the South Side of Chicago who’s on a quest for love, respect and a new barber. Inspired by Lil Rel’s real life
    • LAST MAN STANDING – Yep, the same ABC show that was canceled like 2 years ago?  Tim Allen and Nancy Travis are confirmed to be back.

ABC will announce their 2018-2019 on May 15.

  • THE ROOKIE – At an age where most are at the peak of their career, John Nolan (Nathan Fillion) casts aside his comfortable, small-town life and moves to L.A. to pursue his dream of being a cop. Now, surrounded by rookies 20 years his junior, Nolan must navigate the dangerous, humorous, and unpredictable world of a “young” cop, determined to make his second shot at life count.
  • TAKE TWO – Fresh out of rehab, the former star (Rachel Bilson) of a hit cop series is desperate to restart her career, talking her way into shadowing a rough-and-tumble private investigator (Eddie Cibrian) for a potential comeback role. Though he resents the babysitting gig, she proves herself to be surprisingly valuable, leading to an influx of new clients.
  • SCHOOL (again, fka Untitled THE GOLDBERGS Spinoff fka SCHOOLED) – spinoff set in the 90s following Bryan Callen’s Coach Mellor, with Tim Meadows and now with AJ Michalka (as Lainey).
  • A MILLION LITTLE THINGS – From DJ Nash, about a group of friends in Boston who bond – David Giuntoli, Ron Livingston, Romany Malco, Allison Miller, Christina Moses, Christina Ochoa, James Roday, Stephanie Szostak, and Lizzy Greene. Officially: “Some have achieved success, others are struggling in their careers and relationships, but all of them feel stuck in life. After one of them dies unexpectedly, it’s just the wake-up call the others need to finally start living. Along the way they discover that friends may be the one thing to save them from themselves.”
  • SINGLE PARENTS – Taran Killam and Leighton Meester star – with Brad Garrett and from Liz Meriwether. ABC official: “This ensemble comedy follows a group of single parents as they lean on each other to help raise their 7-year-old kids and maintain some kind of personal lives outside of parenthood. The series begins when the group meets Will, a 30-something guy who’s been so focused on raising his daughter that he’s lost sight of who he is as a man. When the other single parents see just how far down the rabbit hole of PTA, parenting and princesses Will has gone, they band together to get him out in the dating world and make him realize that being a great parent doesn’t mean sacrificing everything about your own identity. The series stars Taran Killam as Will, Leighton Meester as Angie, Kimrie Lewis as Poppy, Jake Choi as Miggy, Marlow Barkley as Sophie, Tyler Wladis as Graham, Devin Trey Campbell as Rory, Grace Hazelett as Emma, Sadie Hazelett as Amy and Brad Garrett as Douglas.”
  • WHISKEY CAVALIER – Military drama starring Scott Foley and Lauren Cohan. A thriller “follows the adventures of tough but tender FBI super-agent Will Chase (codename: “Whiskey Cavalier”), played by Foley. Following an emotional break-up, Chase is assigned to work with badass CIA operative Francesca “Frankie” Trowbridge (codename: “Fiery Tribune”), played by Cohan. Together, they lead an inter-agency team of flawed, funny and heroic spies who periodically save the world (and each other) while navigating the rocky roads of friendship, romance and office politics.”
  • GRAND HOTEL – TVLine tells us: Executive-produced by Eva Longoria and based on a Spanish series, Grand Hotel stars Oscar nominee Demián Bichir (The Bridge) as Miami Beach hotel owner Santiago Mendoza, whose glamorous second wife Gigi (Devious Maids‘ Roselyn Sanchez) and adult children live a life of luxury inside the hotel’s walls. The upstairs/downstairs story also introduces us to the hotel’s loyal staff: “Wealthy and beautiful guests bask in luxury, but scandals, escalating debt and explosive secrets hide beneath the picture-perfect exterior,” per the official description.
  • THE FIX – this one comes from Marcia Clark, about Maya Travis (Robin Tunney), an LA DA who suffers defeat when prosecuting A-ist actor Sevvy Johnson (Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje) for double murder.  Breckin Meyer also stars.
  • THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT – Set in the 1970s, Michael Cudlitz is Mike Cleary, head of a big Irish-Catholic family (his wife is Mary McCormack).  Things are turned a bit upside-down when their oldest son Lawrence quits seminary school with plans to “save the world.” 
  • **THE CONNERS (fka ROSEANNE, if we’re being honest) – ROSEANNE but without Roseanne.  Sounds like they might kill her off and deal with the aftermath.  All cast but Roseanne is on board.

CBS will announce their 2018-2019 schedule on May 16.

  • BLOOD AND TREASURE -Coming in 2019 Summer, Written by Matt Federman & Stephen Scaia, Blood & Treasure, which hails from CBS Television Studios, centers on a brilliant antiquities expert and a cunning art thief who team up to catch a ruthless terrorist who funds his attacks through stolen treasure. As they crisscross the globe hunting their target, they unexpectedly find themselves in the center of a 2,000-year-old battle for the cradle of civilization.
  • F.B.I. – About the inner workings of the New York office of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Missy Peregrym stars.
  • MURPHY BROWN – Murphy Brown (Candice Bergen) returns to a world of cable news, social media, fake news, and a very different political and cultural climate.
  • THE NEIGHBORHOOD (fka WELCOME TO THE NEIGHBORHOOD) – Cedric the Entertainer plays the “nicest guy in the Midwest” who moves the family to a touch LA neighborhood.  Josh Lawson Max Greenfield, Sheaun McKinney, Tichina Arnold, Dreama Walker, Marcel Speers, and Hank Greenspan also star.
  • UNTITLED DAMON WAYANS JR COMEDY – DW,Jr stars with Amber Stevens West (CARMICHAEL SHOW).  They play a 30-something couple whose new roommate is a young pop star. 
  • MAGNUM PI (reboot) – Peter Lenkov is back with a new reboot this time MAGNUM PI starring Jay Hernandez – playing Thomas Magnum, a decorated ex SEAL living in Hawaii after a stint in Afghanistan. Perdita Weeks, Zachary Knighton, and Stephen Hill star.
  • THE RED LINE – Noah Wyle drama series from SUPERGIRL writer Caitlin Parrish.  Noah Wyle, Emayatzy Corinealdo, Noel Fisher, Michael Patrick Thornton, Aliyah Royal, Vinny Chhibber, Howard Charles, and Elizabeth Laidlaw star in this one about a white Chicago cop’s accidental fatal shooting of a black doctor, and following the story of the three different families that are impacted.
  • GOD FRIENDED ME – THE MAYOR (Brandon Michael Hall) becomes an “agent of change” in the world around him after he is “friended” by God on social media.  Joe Morton and Violett Beane costar.
  • THE CODE – stories about the military’s brightest minds as they take on our country’s toughest challenges, inside a courtroom and out – Anna Wood, Ato Essandoh, Phillipa Soo, and Raffi Barsoumian star.
  • FAM – Nina Dobrev stars as a woman trying to fit in with her fiancé’s (Tone Bell) family, but her half sister comes to live with her and almost ruins it all. Odessa Adlon (Pamela’s daughter), Brian Stokes Mitchell, and Sheryl Lee Ralph also star. 

The CW will announce their 2018-2019 schedule on May 17, which will officially include Sunday programming.

  • SPENCER (fka ALL AMERICAN) – inspired by the life of pro player Spencer Paysinger.  Follows 2 families – one from South LA, one from Bev Hills – when a kid from Crenshaw is recruited to play for a BH High School. Taye Diggs stars.
  • IN THE DARK – “a flawed and irreverent” blind woman who is the only witness to the murder of a friend. Officially, “After the police dismiss her story, she sets out with her dog, Pretzel, to find the killer while also managing her colorful dating life and the job she hates at the guide-dog school owned by her overprotective parents.”
  • LEGACIES – Officially: “Continuing the tradition of The Vampire Diaries and The Originals, the story of the next generation of supernatural beings at The Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted. Klaus Mikaelson’s daughter, 17-year-old Hope Mikaelson; Alaric Saltzman’s twins, Lizzie and Josie Saltzman; and other young adults come of age in the most unconventional way possible, nurtured to be their best selves…in spite of their worst impulses. Will these young witches, vampires and werewolves become the heroes they want to be — or the villains they were born to be?”
  • CHARMED (reboot) – Officially: “After the tragic death of their mother, three sisters in a college town are stunned to discover they are witches.  Soon this powerful threesome must stand together to fight the everyday and supernatural battles that all modern witches must face: from vanquishing powerful demons to toppling the patriarchy.
  • ROSWELL, NEW MEXICO (fka ROSWELL) – This one’s a reimagining of the original series called ROSWELL, so not a reboot or spinoff.  This version is based around Liz Ortecho, a biomedical researcher and daughter of an undocumented immigrant couple haunted by a tragic incident.  She then learns her teenage crush is an alien.  Stars Jeanine Mason and Nathan Parsons.
