I think we can all agree that REVENGE’s second season (and maybe even the second half of the first season) wasn’t the greatest.  The continued dependence on the faux-Amanda-Clark side of things, the Initiative, Emily straying too far from the take downs we’d come to love, not enough Nolan and Emily friendship- there was a lot of room for improvement.  It got to the point where I had 9 episodes stored up on the DVR that I never even made it through.  But by the end of S2, Emily (spoiler alert) confessed to her true love Jack (they’re so true loves) that she was Amanda, and suddenly, there was a brightspot – maybe things were turning around.

Season 3 (premiering Sunday at 9/8c) starts a few months after Season 2 ended – Emily is back in business, trying her damnedest to take down the Graysons from the inside.  Engaged to Daniel, besties with Nolan, and being the baddest bitch in town (next to only Victoria, of course).  Declan is dead, Jack’s gone away, Charlotte is rocking some to die for clothes.  The first episode of S3 flashes forward to a time in the future when our heroine might find herself in some danger, and brings us back to Memorial Day for what looks to be another intense summer.  Dare I say that I’m tentatively on board?  It’s not what it once was, but it has potential to be again.  I’m holding out hope that it will surprise me!
