For weeks and months there have been rumors abounding about who would take over David Tennant’s role as The Doctor in BBC’s brilliant time travel / dimension travel / world travel show DOCTOR WHO. It’s been announced that the 11th doctor will be the youngest in history – relative newcomer Matt Smith takes over the reins in early 2010. At 26, he is 3 years younger than the previous youngest doctor (Peter Davison in 1981).
When asked how he feels about taking on this new role, Smith says, “I feel proud and honoured to have been given this opportunity to join a team of people that has worked so tirelessly to make the show so thrilling.”
