My Take On…the brilliant return of BOB’S BURGERS

Have I told you lately how much I love BOB’S BURGERS? Because I do.  Maybe more than just about any other comedy on the air.  The genius animated series about Bob Belcher, his lovely wife Linda, and their, let’s be honest, clinically insane children Louise, Gene, and the best thing on earth, Tina, has their season 4 premiere tonight at 8:30/7:30c on FOX (and FOX just renewed the show for season 5!!!) in an episode that had me laughing from

My Take On…the return of THE GOOD WIFE

Remember that time at the end of Season 4 of THE GOOD WIFE where we all thought “oh she’s calling Will” only to realize that Alicia actually called Cary, and she’s made the decision to leave Lockhart/Gardner for her own firm (Florrick/Agos)?  When Season 5 premieres tonight at 9/8c, we’re thrown right into the immediate aftermath of that decision, and what comes next, and for lack of a better term, is wonderful. Now that the decision is made, and that

My Take On…HOMELAND Season 3

Season 2 of HOMELAND ended with a literal and figurative bomb being dropped on the country – someone set Brody up (or did they) for an actual bombing at the CIA that killed a large number of people, while someone released the video of Brody admitting his role as a soldier for Abu Nazir.  Carrie Matheson sent her love (Brody) on the lam, across the Canadian border, and returned to Saul (now acting commander) at the CIA.

My Take On…MASTERS OF SEX on Showtime

After the HOMELAND S3 premiere tonight on Showtime, be sure that you’re sticking around for the best drama of the 2013-2014 season, MASTERS OF SEX, starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan.  Sheen and Caplan play William Masters and Virginia Johnson, pioneers of research relating to the human sexual response, plus research into sexual disorders and dysfunctions, from 1957 through the 1990s.

My Take On…Sherlock in London and the ELEMENTARY S2 Premiere

One of my favorite new shows from last season’s new crop was ELEMENTARY, starring Jonny Lee Miller as Sherlock Holmes and Lucy Liu as his companion, Joan Watson.  What started as a solid pilot with great chemistry between the leads (platonic chemistry, which is wonderful), turned into a can’t-miss season featuring ups and downs, and some really great work by a cast of my favorites. I’m pleased to say that their Season 2 premiere, set and shot in London (which

My Take On…The hilarious return of PARKS AND RECREATION

A day without new episodes of PARKS AND RECREATION is a day too long, am I right?  The 6th Season Premiere of the show airs tonight at 8/7c and we’re getting a full hour!  When we left our friends in Pawnee, Leslie was about to be recalled; she and Ben were perfect.  Chris and Ann were trying to have a baby.  April and Andy were perfection, and Andy was trying to figure out who was pregnant.  Tom’s business was being

My Take On…THE CRAZY ONES on CBS

Tonight on CBS, taking over the 9/8c slot, is the latest comedy offering THE CRAZY ONES.  CBS tells us “Academy Award winner Robin Williams returns to series television in THE CRAZY ONES, a single-camera workplace comedy about a larger-than-life advertising genius whose unorthodox methods and unpredictable behavior would get him fired… if he weren’t the boss. Simon Roberts is the head of a powerful agency, with the biggest clients and brands in the world, but even more important to him

My Take On…THE MICHAEL J FOX SHOW on NBC

Michael J Fox hasn’t exactly been out of our lives since he revealed his Parkinson’s diagnosis in ’99 and subsequently left SPIN CITY a short time later – guest parts on dramas like BOSTON LEGAL, RESCUE ME (loved it), and most recently THE GOOD WIFE, have kept Alex P Keaton around.  But it has been a while since we’ve gotten to see Fox do what we know he’s great at: headline a sitcom with his typical sarcastic style of comedy.

Double Take: In which CourtneyK and Amrie disagree slightly about ABC’s BACK IN THE GAME

The Double Takes are back this season as Amrie and I offer up our opinions of some new fall shows without knowing what the other is thinking. In most cases this season, it seems we tend to disagree ha!  Today’s DT is about ABC’s BACK IN THE GAME, starring James Caan, Maggie Lawson, and a bunch of charming little kids.   CourtneyK – First Impression: It wasn’t terrible. I actually kinda liked it. Divorced Single Mom (Lawson) with father issues
