Name of the Episode: “Atomic Party”

Full Disclosure: This wasn’t my favorite episode…..

Lucy is still trying to grasp her new reality with her fiancé Noah and not having her sister around is still hard. Wyatt can’t process why he can’t save his wife, but Lucy could still have her sister. At headquarters, Anthony was the project leader who was kidnapped on the day Flynn stole the time machine. Mason believes Anthony was working with Flynn to steal the machine; but his reasons are not yet known. The next destination is September 21, 1962 in Las Vegas, Nevada. The date does not sound familiar to anyone; once Gia breaks the code, it’s suspected Flynn might be there to kill John F. Kennedy or any number of celebrities in town for a conference. It’s shown that the guests were also witnesses to the atomic bomb blowing far off in the desert. Once they come into the desert, they sneak into the Sands hotel and the group poses as wait staff. Rufus sees Anthony and tries to catch him at the bar. However, Anthony might not be the prisoner Rufus thinks; Anthony doesn’t want Rufus to be caught up in his dangerous ploy and tells him to leave.

While waiting tables, Flynn pulls aside Judith Campbell, Kennedy’s mistress and an operator to the mob leader. Flynn threatens to expose her affair unless she cooperates. Christy Pitt was originally the target according to Anthony. However, Rufus cannot figure out the connection. Wyatt is frustrated that Flynn is so far ahead of them. So, he decides to utilize Judith as bait to weed out Flynn from the shadows. Judith whacks Wyatt over the head with the telephone and makes her getaway. Flynn uses Judith to get onto the military base to find the keys from the general. Judith gets the photos and Flynn gets the keys; but he has one more errand. Wyatt tries to operate a telegram to his wife in hopes to save her from her sudden death.

Rufus figures out what “Christy Pitt” really means. Christy Pitt is slang for an atomic bomb’s plutonium core. Flynn wants to move the core with them in the mother ship. If the bomb were to detonate during the flight, it could do so much damage to the past or present. The group is able to secure a car and head off into the desert night. A gunfight ensues, but Anthony gives the core to Rufus reluctantly and runs off with Flynn. Just when they thought they’ve foiled Flynn’s plan, they realize the briefcase was switched and they don’t have the core after all. Once they are back to headquarters, history remains the same, but now Flynn has the atomic bomb. Sadly, Wyatt’s plan does not work to save his wife, Jessica. He still finds her obituary. At home, Lucy tells Noah that she needs to get her life straightened out without him to find structure. Noah was surprised, but accepting of the situation. Gia is able to locate the mother ship in the present. Flynn’s group heads back to their digging site and find the core still intact after fifty years.

On next week’s episode, Lucy faces some doubts as the group is asked to go back to 1944, Nazi Germany. This will be their most daunting and dangerous mission ever. Stay tuned to find out if Lucy, Rufus and Wyatt can stop Flynn’s plan!
