Natalie and Jeff’s relationship is still strong and still secretive. Until Will breaks it to Natalie, that everyone already knows about their relationship. Natalie is happy to pop Will’s bubble that everyone knows about him and Nina, the pathology doctor. Love is in the air at Chicago Med.

The thought of love quickly goes to the back of everyone’s mind when patients begin to come in. Natalie and Will notice a pattern with a few of their patients. They’ve caught the same super virus and Natalie thinks she is the problem. Her repeat cancer patient, Hailey was in for a visit. Natalie believes she missed the diagnosis and sent her back into the city with the virus. Downstairs, Maggie takes Jeff to “The Farm”; a place where comatose patients are being treated. She shows him to a patient she has been visiting for some time. Maggie has so much love to give to the city. Dr. Reese continues to familiarize herself with the world of psychiatry. She chats with a young man who is suffering from abdominal pain. However, he begins to throw up and begs to be released. He finally confesses he was using heroin and now he is suffering from withdrawal symptoms.

Dr. Choi wants to save an elderly demented man from his ailment. The patient’s son keeps insisting his father does not want any surgery done. Once the patient is in dire need, Dr. Choi insists the patient said he wanted to be saved, and now the surgery will be done.

Sarah’s heroin patient seems to be recovering, but is much more reclusive once his mother is in the room. Dr. Charles suggests running some more tests to see if there is something else going on. Natalie is still convinced the virus is an immediate threat. Now three patients have been diagnosed with  the same symptoms. Ultimately, she finds out an endoscope was contaminated and that caused the symptoms of the patients. The FDA was already aware of the situation, but they were more focused on how much money they could make from the tools instead of the safety of their patients.

Dr. Reese continues to check on Danny, and it seems he is scared to leave with his mother. Reese diverts him to more tests to find out why his mother is so eager to get him away. Dr. Charles and Reese make the startling discovery that Danny could be involved with sex trafficking. A chest x-ray showed he had a tracking device in him, and his temperament shows the woman with him was a pimp, not his mother. Without Danny speaking any danger, there is nothing the hospital can do except watch him leave.

At the end of the episode, Dr. Rhodes sees a different side to Dr. Lethem. He’s a musician and may not be so odd after all. After their difficult day, Maggie and Sarah to go Molly’s to unwind.
