DVD Review and Giveaway! HBO’s CONFIRMATION

0883929548705_p0_v2_s192x300Starring Kerry Washington, Wendell Pierce and Greg Kinnear, CONFIRMATION takes a look behind the curtain of Washington politics, depicting the explosive 1991 Clarence Thomas Supreme Court nomination hearings where Anita Hill accused him of sexual harassment. The hearings brought the country to a standstill and became a pivotal moment in American culture forever changing how we perceive and experience workplace equality and gender politics. Rick Famuyiwa directs a script written by Susannah Grant.

The made to television movie aired exclusively on HBO in the late Spring, and now is your chance to own a copy on DVD or Blu-Ray (released August 2).  Kerry Washington’s performance is incredible as the movie works to tell the story of Anita Hill and the struggles she faced in bringing this scandal to light. Susannah Grant did a great job of not picking sides, as far as who to believe, and wrote a compelling script that Famuyiwa used to produce a beautiful final product.

It looks great on DVD, running right around 110 minutes, and is definitely worth adding to your collection.

I deserve to win this because I did not get a chance to see this when it was on hbo. I enjoy movies based on historical events.

Well, I don’t know about why I “deserve” to win, but I missed this when it aired and I’d love to watch it.
