Beware – the follow contains spoilers!!!

The intelligence group is called to a “floater” call in the harbor. A woman’s head is found with a small caliber gunshot wound in her neck. Teeth intact, they’re hopeful to indentify the Jane Doe. Voight and Erin take a boat ride in hopes to find the rest of the body. The divers recover the remainder of the nude body from the Chicago River. The medical examiner determines the cause of death was by strangulation but had holes drilled into her to make sure the body would sink. Victoria, the victim was a confidential informant against the mob. She must have seen something that was beyond protection; she was a dancer at a club and had many clients.

Ruzek and Olinsky investigate into the victim’s belongings and they find a handful of I.D.’s She used them to cash forgery checks at various banks and give a percentage back to the mob. Voight goes into the social club to discuss the details with the men of the mob. Officer Roman is continuing to look after Callie, the woman who lost her son Andrew. Callie has a vicious drunk of an ex husband and continues to come around to harass her. Roman is fed up and wants to get more than a restraining order put against him.

Once Voight extracts a name, the team goes into the apartment to find forgery checks and I.D.’s ready for purchase. Without warning, the dealer attacks Ruzek and they both go flying over the second story banister onto the front lawn. Once in custody, Charlie says he never would hurt Victoria. But once his lawyer comes into the room, the lawyer says Charlie confesses to the crime. He gives an address for the tools and boat supposedly used in the murder and disposal. Erin isn’t buying the facts that are being given, while Voight seemingly doesn’t care about the sincerity of the confession and wants to close the case.

When the crime scene investigators sweep the boat, no blood is found on the scene. Mouse finds calls Charlie made to Lauren, Victoria’s sister. She insists Charlie was with her the night of the murder, despite whatever “confession” he’s made. Voight goes back to his friend Frank to find out who really murdered Victoria. He doesn’t give any new information; but back at the station, it’s revealed Victoria was four months pregnant.
Voight tries to flip Charlie and is successful. Victoria was sleeping with Carlo Tafani; never get into bed with the boss.

Roman goes to Callie’s ex husband, Richie and shakes him down and threatens him to get out of town and backs it up with a restraining order. Voight goes to see Carlo and he brings him into the interrogation room. Carlo says he could not be the father of the child because he’s had a vasectomy. Mouse pulls up interesting information on the mob lawyer, Jimmy. Turns out he’s the one Victoria had been seeing and is most likely the father of the child. He is already going through a bad divorce, in a mountain of debt and coincidentally owns a boat.

The team interrogates him, with overwhelming evidence; yet, Voight lets him walk out on his own will. Erin is confused and sees Jimmy walk out to be greeted by the mob bosses. Voight makes his own deals and his own rules, and won’t always say why he’s doing it, but he’ll always love Erin and want to protect her. The episode wraps up with Roman and Burgess get a call from Callie saying Richie came back and hurt her. Roman chased him to the street and shot a couple rounds at him. When Burgess caught up with them Richie was dead, Roman thought a gun was pointed at him, so that’s why he shot. When no gun is seen, Burgess calls Voight in hopes he can help solve their problem. This is the fall finale and the show will return in January with the big crossover event!!
