PAUL THE MALE MATCHMAKER premieres on Hulu today!

I’ve long been a fan of webseries that are able to pique and hold my interest, and today’s premiere, over on Hulu, of PAUL THE MALE MATCHMAKER, from Warner Brothers 2.0 Studio and creators Liz Tucillo (He’s Just Not That Into You) and Paul Batholomew (the star) does just that.  The story of a man named Paul, trophy husband to his rich wife, who is left the family matchmaking business from his favorite Aunt Cathy, MATCHMAKER follows Paul’s struggle to find love for his customers in order to keep his aunt’s matchmaking dreams live, and the struggle of the unfortunate people who call him up for help.

Each episode runs 5-7 minutes in length, and having had the opportunity to screen each episode (back to back, over the course of an hour or so, basically mainlining the series), I already feel like 10 episodes are not enough!  When it comes down to it, the show is flat out my kind of humor – sarcastic, maybe a little mean, incredibly awkward, fast, and so “did he really just do that” that my jaw dropped a few times.  Guest stars including Lisa Edelstein, Tony Hale, Janeane Garofalo, and Jennifer Aspen (who, in the opening episode, is told by Paul that she is robotic and makes a horrible first impression after she’s said very little) each offer some great one-liners that I am already repeating (“Better Crazy than Lazy” is probably my favorite thing so far), and the mockumentary feeling of the show has a Christopher-Guest-ian quality to it that I can’t help but enjoy.

I suggest you check it out and let us know what you think?  Would you ever in a million years let this guy help you find love?
