Amrie’s Monday Quick Take: WEEDS S7 Premiere on Showtime
Nancy Botwin and her rag tag family are back tonight on Showtime’s Season 7 premiere of WEEDS. When we left them, Nancy was confessing to murder, and Andy, Silas, Shane and Doug were off to Copenhagen. When we meet up with them all again, quite some time has passed, and Nancy’s about to get herself sprung from Federal prison. When word travels quickly back to the gang in Copenhagen that Nancy’s free as a bird, everyone decides it’s time to head home and confront her about what’s been happening.
The Nancy we first met 7 seasons ago who was the suburban mom drawn to the drug trade, is now a crazy danger hunter who almost immediately finds herself breaking the established rules and regulations of her fancy New York City halfway house. The premiere sets up some great drama but still finds time to bring us the dark humor we’ve come to love over the years. Set the DVR and don’t forget to watch.

It’s no fun for us who are too cheap to subscribe to Showtime… but I’m not sure how I feel about hearing that they skipped all of the time that she was spending in prison. I was wondering how they were going to deal with that. I guess it doesn’t make for good drama if she’s just locked up.
I can’t wait for this season to be available on Netflix so I can catch up!
