What’s On? Monday, 5/17/10

It’s a night of some great finales, and a lot of new stuff!

The 8:00 Hour –

ABC has another all new 1.5 hour episode of DANCING WITH THE STARS.  Over on CBS, catch all new episodes of HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER and RULES OF ENGAGEMENT.  On HIMYM, Ted goes on a movie date and realizes the film’s loosely based on his relationship with Stella, and it’s written by Tony, the man for whom Stella left Ted at the alter.  On ROE, a sexual harassment suit is filed against Audrey by a colleague who doesn’t like her; and, tired of being teased about playing cricket, Timmy challenges Jeff to a match.

FOX has the 6th season finale of HOUSE. House and the team are sent to downtown Trenton to help the recovery act after a crane collapses and injures a ton of people.  It’s a very moving episode, and it leaves House with a terrible choice at the end of it!  NBC has an all new episode of CHUCK!  Chuck enlists Morgan’s help for a side mission, but the assignment turns complicated upon the arrival of Chuck’s father, who discovers that an advanced version of the Intersect has been downloaded into his son.  Over on The CW, there’s an all new ONE TREE HILL. In the 7th season finale, Julian’s film premieres in Utah, so his friends head west to see it.  Among those making the journey is Haley, who hopes the trip will help her battle back from depression.

There’s another all new episode of 10 THINGS I HATE ABOUT YOU on ABC Family.  Bianca hosts a dinner party for her friends.  Meanwhile, Kat and Patrick decide whether to take their relationship to the next level; Michael announces that he’s gay; Walter asks out Mrs Tharpe; and Joey gets a callback for a reality show.

The 9:00 Hour –

On ABC, DANCING WITH THE STARS continues until 9:30, followed by an all new ROMANTICALLY CHALLENGED.  In the episode that was the original season premiere, Lisa convinces Rebecca to try a one night stand.  Meanwhile, Perry takes a stay-at-home vacation, which irritates unemployed roommate Shawn so much that Shawn is willing to take a job – virtually any job.  CBS has an all new TWO AND A HALF MEN and THE BIG BANG THEORY.  On 2.5, while Alan and Jake are away on a road trip, Charlie is visited by the ghosts of his former girlfriends.  ZZ Top make a cameo appearance.  On TBBT, Leonard tells Penny the story of how he met Sheldon.

NBC has an all new two hour episode of LAW AND ORDER.  In the first case, a stabbing victim dies after being left at the hospital, and the investigation exposes an exploited family.  FOX an all new hour of 24.  With three hours to go, Jack’s mission makes life difficult for President Taylor as she prepares for a signing ceremony.  Meanwhile, Chloe leads CTU on a collision course with Jack; and President Logan meets a formidable foe.  The CW has the season finale of GOSSIP GIRL. In the third season finale, Blair must make a decision about her future with Chuck.  Meanwhile, a post on Gossip Girl about Dan causes problems for Nate and Serena.  Dorota has her baby, and Georgina returns to town; and things for from bad to worse for Jenny.

The 10:00 Hour –

ABC has the season finale of CASTLE.  Castle and Beckett must come to terms with their feelings for each other while investigating the death of a possible spy.  CBS has an all new CSI: MIAMI.  Horatio’s former girlfriend is killed in an explosion and the investigation centers on the lab.  LAW AND ORDER continues on NBC – in the second case, a television crew from a fashion makeover show finds a murder victim locked in a dog cage, and his wife becomes the prime suspect.

REAL HOUSEWIVES OF NEW JERSEY is all new on Bravo.  Sick of the Jersey-girl superdramas, Dina reaches out to a Zen master to remove all the negativity from her life.  Elsewhere, Teresa’s and Daniele’s daughters model at Fashion Week, but catwalk mishaps strike a blow.  MTV has an all new TRUE LIFE as well.

Showtime has all new episodes of NURSE JACKIE and THE UNITED STATES OF TARA.  On JACKIE, Jackie rents a post-office box to receive credit-card bills from her prescription-drug purchases; she also informs Kevin that she wants Fiona to join Grace in Catholic school, and he reiterates that he doesn’t want her accepting financial help from Dr. O’Hara.  An overflowing ER necessitates Mrs Akalitus resurrecting her nursing skills, and Dr Cooper’s Tourette’s resurfaces and he inappropriately touches a nurse.  On TARA,  not quite the picture perfect family, Tara nevertheless believes she can unify the Gregsons with her latest project, a family portrait.  Meanwhile, Max tries to put distance between himself and Pammy; Kate meets an interesting guy online; Marshall gets some bad news concerning Ted and Hany; and Nick wants Charmaine to do something about Neil.
