MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE starts tonight!

I will be the first to admit that I am not within the target demographics for TNT’s latest drama (with some comedy) offering, MEN OF A CERTAIN AGE.  No, that’s probably more my dad or my older cousins, but I have to say that without doubt and for whatever reason, I am completely impressed with what they’re giving me.

Ray Romano stars alongside Andre Braugher and Scott Bakula – three best friends who are at the same age but not the same stage of life.  Romano plays Joe, a recently separated father of two; Braugher plays Owen, happily married car salesman, father of young kids, who suffers from a wide variety of medical issues, while dealing with his dad’s lack of pride; Bakula is Terry, a perennial bachelor, former, or rather current actor, playing a temp to cover the bills.

The leads have an easy chemistry, and while the show tends to be a bit wordy and depressing (and often feels like it’s running longer than the 45 minutes per episode), I was impressed by what I was watching – charming actors and intriguing stories.  I see myself tuning in, probably as a part of my Monday night Amrie and Dad TV night.  Give it a shot and let us know what you think!
