This week, the TV triumvirate was back together again. We talked about what seems to be a lack of good ethnic shows on TV recently. Listener Brian Hunt wondered why there seemed to be more African American sitcoms during the ’70s into the early ’90s, like The Cosby Show and Good Times. He posited that “racism was still very prevalent” back then, but now “America is much more excepting” and wanted to know why there is “such a lack of good ethnic TV shows” nowadays?

We started things off with a few news items about The Celebrity Apprentice, Disney/ABC joining Hulu, Roommates, Harper’s Island, Southland, and Chuck. Then we moved on to the topic, which included talking about shows like The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, A Different World, Everybody Hates Chris and many others, along with the ones mentioned above.

Lastly, we moved on to our primetime wrap-up, where we talked about The Amazing Race, Chuck, Fringe, Lost, and Dollhouse. Next time we will be discussing actors, like Hugh Laurie (House), playing roles where they don’t use their natural accent.
