It happened last night…

The Phillies/Dodgers game kept me from watching the majority of last night’s TV.  I got to watch LIFE ON MARS, THE OFFICE, IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA, and ELEVENTH HOUR (I watched TESTEES and KATH & KIM, too, but didn’t really want to mentio them ha).  On tap for tonight and/or this weekend are GREY’S ANATOMY, UGLY BETTY, and SURVIVOR.

My thoughts on the shows that I did watch:

LIFE ON MARS:  I think Jason O’Mara is brilliant.  I love him, and I seriously hope that the numbers are big and support him.  I want this show to do well, and be a big hit for ABC!  Basic story for those of you who didn’t have time to catch it – Sam Tyler (O’Mara) is searching for a murderer in 2008; once his girlfriend Maya (Lisa Bonet) is kidnapped, he goes on a desperate hunt for her, and is hit by a car.  Being hit by a car somehow sends him back to 1973 (complete with awesome 70s style clothes).  Somehow, he ends up working a case at the local PD, and the rest, as they say is history. Yes, Sam wants to get back to 2008, but he’s going to make the most of 1973.  Sure, it’s a little clichéd, but  Gretchen Mol, Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli, and Jonathan Murphy are all great – can’t wait to tune in to next week’s episode!

THE OFFICE: So much to love about this show!  I loved when Jim told everyone about the engagement, and the various reactions he got, specifically, Michael tackling Jim.  Ryan’s speech or explanation about the “elephant in the room” and his making everyone love him for making out with the girl that resembled someone from SURVIVOR?  He’s such a douche, and I love it.  Jim and Andy’s BSG conversation had me laughing hysterically.  When Jim started bringing up monsters and aliens, I felt Dwight’s pain!  I wish Holly Flax didn’t need to leave the show.  She and Michael are MFEO (a SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE reference ha)!  The tag at the end that had Phyllis and Stanley high five over ribs?  Brilliant.  Great episode – looking forward to an awesome season.

IT’S ALWAYS SUNNY IN PHILADELPHIA: I love how excited our boys got about someone pooping the bed.  I mean, it’s gross, but they make it hilarious.  I knew all along it was Frank, because he’s a gross, dirty, foul, little man with issues beyond issues.  Dee and The Waitress and Artemis, out on the town – I am all about a spinoff.  These three are ridiculous!  I do think they gave Artemis too much to do towards the end of the episode, but the drunk Waitress = perfect.  Mary Elizabeth is ridiculously good at that character!  All in all, a great episode – love these people!

ELEVENTH HOUR:  First thought – it’s nice to see Marc Blucas all grown up and serious.  Love him, wish he was a series regular!  Rufus Sewell and Marley Shelton are totally awesome.  The show might eventually turn out to be a clichéd procedural, but I think the two leads on the series are going to take it one step further, and keep it interesting.  Next week’s episode is really great – lots of red herrings, and a seriously creepy murderer!

KATH & KIM / TESTEES:  I hate myself for watching these shows.

What about you all – what did you watch?
